I was real late today, way too sleepy, lunch finished way too slow. I boarded the 6:25 train, got there when the jog was already done.
I got back out for the sprints, I wasn't tired, so I could outrun everyone. ended with this shoot where you hold your knees every step.
At the end of the outdoor PT, I saw this kid about Small Kartik's size, with a sharp chin, full lips and serious expression.
Then inside and I watched wrestling. Small Kartik was to wrestle the new kid. And there were two new women.
He started. This new kid was fierce, aggressive, and serious, and Kartik, it was like the fire in him was extinguised, getting repeatedly pinned as onlooker's laughed.
Kartik was cued to wrestle properly after grabbing Swami by the neck and trying to swing him down, which, is actually an effective move on toddlers.
"No, do real kushti", warned Kishore, but Swami, who turned out was his slightly younger cousin, was too aggressive.
Kishore asked me if I wanted to wrestle, and I eventually got a match with Kushal.
I shook hands with Kushal. His wrists were stiff, and he would get the front headlock quickly. My strong back meant that I wasn't taken down by his headlocks, he would just hang of my bent back like a chandalier, while I would watch his foot movement, waiting for him to step too close to me before I would grab his knee and take him down, pinning him.
[5:51 pm, 22/4/2026] Saswat Sahoo: This went on for a few more times. He tried to wear me down by walking me around the mat. It didn't work. Soon, Happy's father stepped in. Showing me the idea to keep the same foot forward as he was keeping forward, and I needed to stay in one place and take him down with technique.
I did the same as before. His hands were simply too stiff pushing out easily and taped from, although I was trying to grab them at first. But this time, I widened my feet slightly so he wouldn't walk me around the mat.
A bit later, Kishore stepped in and excused me, that I should be doing dhobi pachad. Apparently I had to pull down his elbow and hook his armpit while turning.
I attempted the dhobi pachad a few times, and none succeeded, but they pseudo-succeeded, as in Kushal would sink his weight back his way back, putting his knees close to me and easy to grab, and I would immediately turn back around, grab his knee and take him down and pin him again.
"How much do you weigh?" I asked him. 52 kgs, he said. Five kg advantage, I said (I was 57kg)
As the match went on, I started to control the tie-ups, as in I'd grab his wrist before he could grab post and push with his stiff hand.
After a couple more minutes of this, and only one time when he managed to pin me due to a mistimed move, he asked if I wanted to quit the match. I thought he was asking me, but no, he was the one who wanted to quit. Okay.
After this, I watched the others for a bit more before wrestling Vikrant. I had the idea.
It worked a few times, start low, get to his leg, try to reverse if he connects high. I observed that starting super low, just meant he could stop the shot by putting his hand on my head, and he could already sprawl.
"You are starting to get it bro", said Vikrant, but it only worked for a couple minutes, before he readjusted and started beating me again.
