I went to the club today, got there pretty much on time. Pranay Raskar was back, and there was also Yash Patil, Siddhant, Vaishwajeet, and others.
Vaishwajeet cornered me immediately, he asked me if I could teach him english, and I told him that would be 100 rupees per class.
I put on my langot. Then watched what was going on in the mat room.
Pranay Raskar had started live wrestling again. He was wrestling Siddhant, who was half his weight. but actually wrestling, and actually doing full hindu squats.
I watched them wrestle for a bit, and noticed Mayuresh in the exercise room.
"I wrote a book about this talim", I told him. "About my diary of wrestling here" I clarified, "Would you like to read it?"
"Yeah I would like to read that", he replied.
Then Omkar Shinde called me outside.
Outside, were the little kids, and the girls. They were already lined up for shoot PT, and I was asked to stand next to this new girl, a lean red shirted girl with a ponytail, wearing black track pants.
We jogged to the far line, then shot sprinted. This girl was fast. I could see why I was put next to her.
This shoot PT was different, just sprint to one end, then jog back. about 10 times. The new girl and Yashish the archer boy were the only ones ahead of me, everyone else was behind.
At full sprint I was as fast as either of them, but I was behind in all the starts, Id react late, my foot would slip on the first step.
After each sprint, was that mild abdomen contraction, which the easy super slow jog back to the line would undo. I didn't slow down.
The starts got better, until I was almost able to keep up with this athlete girl and archer guy.
The run was directed by this wrestler uncle, who appeared to be mid 30's with a punch, single cauliflower ear and dark muscles. He was able to sprint as fast as I could.
After about 10 shoots, he started mixing things up. side runs, then backward runs, 1 leg hops, backward hops, hand hold races.
Vaishnavo and Tithji told me to get away from the girls line, and the other line was the little kids line.
Then frog hops, I couldn't keep up, and ended with this walk where you hold your ankles. all the way, which, I couldn't do tightly.
After this the boys headed indoors, the girls stayed outside. indoors all the advanced guys were bear walking across the floor, Lucky appeared to be leading.
I made it to the mat, the main event, was the match between Small Kartik, who had turned 3 on Hanuman Jayanti, and Happy, who was 2.5 years old and already 25kg.
Kartik finally had his new blue singlet, Happy, his blue and gold.
Though much of the video was interrupted, it was clear Kartik was trying decently advanced moves.
Sometimes he would succeed, clearly far ahead of Appu, who was asked to do dhobi pachad and failed. But Happy was too heavy to gutwrench roll, his massive weight was turning the match. There was no turning this kid.
After the match, Kartik started crying. I thought he's got something in his eye, but I understood. This is the Jai Hanuman league, and he was now confirmed in last place.
